Foreman

A control room for AI agent work.

Foreman queues, schedules, budgets and records the work AI coding agents do, so long-running jobs run unattended without running away. You set the goals, acceptance checks and spend limits; agents produce the work; plain code decides what runs, when it stops and whether it passed.

What Foreman does

Queue and schedules

Submit agent tasks from any session or on a schedule. A backlog drains automatically when compute is free.

Usage and spend gates

Every run is admitted against concurrency, memory, usage-window and dollar budgets, with overflow to pay-as-you-go APIs only within caps.

Workflows and agent types

A visual studio for multi-step workflows: parallel branches, joins, verify steps, and reusable agent roles with their own model, prompt and tools.

Runbooks with earned trust

Repeated procedures carry a readiness score. Work runs unattended only after it has proven itself under review.

Containment

Agents run as an unprivileged user inside resource caps, with path-scoped tools and no open ports.

A full record

Every run's spec, event stream, cost and output is stored and searchable from a web console.

About

Book Tree is an early-stage, self-funded software company. Foreman is in active development and runs every day on our own infrastructure, where it operates our agent jobs, data collectors and small apps.

We are building toward running Foreman across multiple model providers and clouds, so that agent work goes wherever capacity and budget allow.
